Dodge Ridge Raises Over $6000 for Habitat for Humanity

March 4, 2013 — PINECREST, Calif. –This past weekend, March 1-3, Dodge Ridge proudly hosted the annual Habitat All Mountain Challenge and the Food & Fire Festival with over 200 participants enjoying a challenging day of ski races on the slopes, great food and drink followed by an amazing fireworks display while raising over $6,000 for the benefit of Habitat For Humanity of Tuolumne County.

Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County (HFHTC) is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live in dignity and safety. The Habitat All Mountain Challenge and the Food and Fire Festival is an annual event at Dodge Ridge created as a way to give back to the community by hosting an action-packed weekend of fun and exciting events with all proceeds benefiting HFFTC.

The three day event featured slalom and giant slalom races for all ages on Saturday. The Food and Fire Festival was open to the public on Saturday afternoon and included unlimited food samples during the Taste of Tuolumne event from Black Oak Casino, Cafe Blossom, China House, Christopher’s Ristorante Italiano, Cover’s Apple Ranch, Cupcake Karma, McCaffrey House, Mi Wuk Kettle Corn, The Steam Donkey and more with beer and wine tasting provided by Miller/Coors, Barefoot Wine and Sierra Cellars. During the Taste of Tuolumne event, live music was provided by Uplands Drive and it was followed by a huge fireworks show and a torch light parade starting at dusk. Due to the arrival of a winter storm that brought significant snowfall to Dodge Ridge the All Mountain Challenge event that was initially planned for Sunday was rescheduled for Saturday, March 30, 2013.
