Barretta Gardens Inn Bed and Breakfast

Barretta Gardens was built at the turn of the 19th century on a steep hillside overlooking the gold rush town of Sonora. It has been lovingly restored to its historic ambiance and is one the most well-known bed and breakfast inns in the southern Gold Country.

Although located only a 10-minute walk to the center of Sonora, our landscaped gardens give you the feeling of staying in the middle of a beautiful park. Our shady porches offer quiet views of fragrant gardens and foothill sunsets in the warm seasons.

After a day of wine tasting, hiking, golfing, fishing, swimming, antique hunting or caving, take a nap in the shade of majestic oak trees, or go skiing and then relax in our “state of the art” hot tub in a secluded part of the garden.

Enjoy relaxing in our parlour with fireplace, formal dining room with crystal chandelier, first and second floor parlours on our many porches.

We offer seven tastefully decorated non-smoking bedrooms/suites with private bathrooms/jacuzzi/soaking tubs with space for solitude, a romantic getaway or small business meetings. Individual a/c and heating of ea room. We can arrange theatre tickets and restaurant reservations. Skiing is only 40 minutes away.

Lodging is available for small wedding parties. Our old fashioned gazebo makes a perfect site for weddings under 20 people or vow renewals with close family and friends.

We are ideally situated for you to visit Yosemite, Calaveras Big Trees, Columbia State Historic Park, Railtown 1897 State Park, Murphy's, Moaning Caverns, Dodge Ridge ski resort or Pinecrest Lake for hiking, rafting, fishing, golfing, wine tasting or antiquing.
